Frequently asked questions.
I don’t have an ADHD diagnosis. Would ADHD coaching still benefit me?
You don't necessarily have to have ADHD to be coached. If you struggle with executive function skills (self-awareness, inhibition, non-verbal and verbal working memory, emotional self-regulation, self-motivation, planning and problem solving), then you can benefit from coaching.
How can coaching help me?
I can help you develop important executive functions to accomplish your goals. Through coaching you to identify and utilize strengths to improve effectiveness in planning, organisation, time management, self-regulation and social interactions, we collaborate to support your goals and build your self-confidence. I also advocate in the school system for families and educators to work together to best meet the needs of the child.
How are you different?
I view my role primarily as a coach and a motivator to inspire my students to see what has always existed within them. I work with them on their executive function skills (self-awareness, inhibition, non-verbal and verbal working memory, emotional self-regulation, self-motivation, planning and problem solving). I am known to be kind, considerate and personable.
Can a coach diagnose my ADHD?
Coaches cannot diagnose ADHD or other neurodiversities. A licensed medical practitioner or psychologist can assess you for diagnosis, if that is a goal you wish to pursue. For the purpose of coaching, your desire to improve your life is all that’s required.
